    AlKhalidi: Qatif is a promising investment environment for many activities and we support the development of opportunities

    The Chamber adopts all training options and supports productive families and industrial development in the province

     

    On Monday 17 December 2018, the expanded meeting was held at the headquarter of Asharqia Chamber in Qatif province with the presence of a number of members of the Council such as the Vice-Presidents Mohammad Buali and Badr Rizaiaa, and the Members of the Board Ibrahim al-Sheikh, Badr al-Abdul Karim, and Hamad al-Hammad, in addition to a number of businessmen and members of the Business Council in the Chamber branch in the province.

    Mr. Abdul Hakim Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, Chairman of the Board, Council Member Saadoun Al Khalidi, Chairman of the Business Council in Qatif branch Abdulmohsen Al-Faraj, and the Secretary General of the Chamber Abdulrahman Al Wabel were the speakers of the meeting.

     

    The expanded meeting of businessmen and businesswomen in Qatif province confirmed the importance of proposals and visions for the development of economic activity in the province, as this initiative should be primarily from the investors in the governorate and in liaison with Asharqia Chamber, represented by the branch's Business Council.

     

    Investment Environment:

    The meeting discussed the investment environment in the province, the role of Asharqia Chamber and Buisness Council in this regard.

    The Chairman of the Board Abdulhakeem bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi expressed the readiness of the Chamber to support the targeted proposals that offered by businessmen in the province that provided by local investors.

    AlKhalidi said that Qatif province is a promising investment environment for many activities, as many opportunities are available.

    On the other hand, the Chamber finds itself in the position as a supporter, promoter and catalyst who will not hesitate to support any initiative that supports our diverse development options.

    He pointed out that the Chamber's branch in the governorate is an environment for launching more initiatives and the implementation of many training programs and events that result in the performance of the private sector for the better.

    AlKhalidi explained that investments in economic projects that adopted by investors and serve the province need more effort.

    He urged businessmen and businesswomen to maintain the initiative.

    He pointed to several development projects that will be witnessed in the province, including the development of central Awamiyah, the development of Tarot Island, and others.

     

    For his part, the Chairman of the Buisness Council in the Chamber's branch in Qatif Abdulmohsen Al-Faraj said that the Chamber has been allocated 3 billion riyals to remove old property in the province.

    He called for the conversion of these properties and turn them to promising investment projects, so the opportunities are great and business people can benefit from this.

    He stressed that the Council seeks more activities through supporting businessmen in their activities, especially at this stage.

     

    The board member, Saadoun AlKhalidi, said that many topics were discussed with the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber, including the development of the investment environment in Qatif.

     

    Accordingly, Secretary-General of the Chamber, Abdulrahman Al-Wabel, confirmed that the Board of Directors of the Biosafety Clearing-House at its current session, as in previous sessions, seeks to communicate with businessmen and looks forward to their comments and observations about the Council and the Secretariat.

     

    Training:

    The meeting dealt with a number of general topics that have a direct impact on the investment movement in the province, including training and benefiting from the branch to organize special training courses serving the Saudi youth.

    In this regard, AlKhalidi stressed that the Chamber supports and participates in training programs of all kinds and forms.

    During the second half of this year, it has adopted the implementation of free training programs to support the sectors to emphasize the settlement program.

     The Chamber has trained 3,000 young men and women to serve this national goal.

     

    In turn, the Secretary General of the Chamber, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel, said that Asharqia Chamber-during the last period of the opening of the branch in the province-carried out several training programs that were implemented by the Training Center in the Chamber and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Center.

     Therefore, the training is taken care of by the Chamber.

     

     

    Productive Families:

    The issue of productive families was also discussed, and their support options in Qatif governorate were activated.

    Some of the attendees called for more support for productive families in order to shift their activities from limited activities to successful business activities.

     

     Al-Khalidi stressed that the Chamber is aware of this growing sector.

    In fact, last week, the Chamber organized Sanaati Exhibition to support productive families, which was visited by about 25,000 visitors.

     All of this participation was free of charge, where the suites were offered free of charge to productive families.

    He pointed out that the Chamber started preparing for the next version of the exhibition and take advantage of the current experience.

    Al-Khalidi also confirmed that the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber has adopted a trend that all gifts provided to the Chamber's guests will be produced by local productive families.

     

    In this regard, the Chairman of the Chamber of Business Council in the Chamber's branch in Qatif, Abdulmohsen Al-Faraj, praised the prominent participation of the Chamber that witnessed by Sanaati Exhibition.

    The Chamber, represented by the branch, is going to follow up the proposal to allocate part of the City Center of Awamiya, which is about to complete the development process, to be in favor of productive families with little or free of charge rents.

    He added that one of the proposals the Council intends to implement to support productive families is to assign one of the businesswomen in the province to follow up the families and discuss their affairs and to activate the proposals for developing these families.

     

    Industrial city:

    The meeting also discussed the industrial city in the province.

    The President of the Chamber said that there is an urgent need for such a city that do industries related to the environment at the levels of agriculture and fisheries.

    Efforts have been made in this regard in coordination with the Industrial Property Authority through the Chamber and will follow up those efforts.

     

    Food product marketing:

    During the meeting, some development proposals were raised, such as the development of agricultural and fishery products through the sale by food trucks instead of selling on the streets in poor health conditions and poor environment.

     

    Mohammad Buali, the chamber's deputy chairman, said that the Chamber is in the process of carrying out an extensive symposium next year on food industry and trade and review such ideas.

     

    For his part, the Chairman of the Business Council in the Chamber's branch in Qatif, Abdulmohsen Al-Faraj, said that a working group of the Eastern Region Secretariat is discussing the issue of marketing food products in the streets and work to find mechanisms and proposals for marketing, including the idea of food trucks.​
